Lebanon and Kuwait Also Improve in FIFA Rankings:

Notably, Lebanon also witnessed an improvement in their FIFA ranking, ascending two spots to be positioned just below India at the 100th spot. Meanwhile, Kuwait achieved a remarkable jump of four places, securing the 137th position in the latest FIFA chart.

Inclusion of West Asian Countries Ensures Strong Competition:

The SAFF Championships included the participation of West Asian countries, Lebanon, and Kuwait, to enhance the level of competition in the tournament. This move proved successful as the matches saw intense battles among the teams.

India’s Points and Previous FIFA Ranking:

With the latest update, India’s FIFA ranking brings them a total of 1208.69 points. Their previous best ranking was 94th, achieved in 1996. Additionally, India reached the 99th spot in 1993 and 96th in both 2017 and 2018. In the previous month, they were positioned at the 100th spot.

Top Positions in FIFA Rankings:

As per the latest FIFA rankings, world champions Argentina continue to hold the top position. They are followed by France, Brazil, England, and Belgium in the top five spots. In the Asian region, Japan leads the chart at the 20th spot, followed by Iran, Australia, Korea, and Saudi Arabia among the top five.

The Indian men’s football team’s remarkable performance in the SAFF Championship has brought them back to the sub-100 FIFA ranking after three years.
