China is now Saudi Arabia’s greatest commercial partner, with bilateral trade valued at $87.3 billion in 2021.

China’s exports to Saudi Arabia were $30.3 billion, while the kingdom’s imports totalled $57 billion. The following are a few sectors where China and Saudi Arabia have strong connections.

Scheduled Modi-Putin Summit in December 2022 has dropped

According to reports, there is currently no meeting planned between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin in December.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov suggested on Saturday that India may play a role in resolving “issues,” adding that he backed India and Brazil’s membership in the UN Security Council.

As part of the yearly India-Russia summits, the two were due to meet this month. The last meeting between the two leaders took place last year when Mr Putin came to Delhi for a brief visit to the annual discussions at the Hyderabad House.

As a result, the expectation was that Moscow would welcome the Indian leader. However, according to local sources, no summit has been planned as of yet.

India decides not to support G7’s price cap on crude oil

Russia has appreciated India’s decision not to back the G7 nations and their allies’ price ceiling on Russian oil.

The comment was made by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak at a meeting with India’s Ambassador to Russia, Pavan Kapoor.

Last week, the Group of Seven major nations, the European Union, and Australia agreed to a $60 per barrel price ceiling on Russian seaborne crude oil after EU members overcame Poland’s opposition.

The price limitation aims to limit Russia’s earnings as punishment for its war on Ukraine while ensuring Moscow continues to supply the global market.

According to a Russian Foreign Ministry statement, Russian oil shipments to India increased to 16.35 million tonnes in the first eight months of 2022. Notably, despite the current conflict between Moscow and Kyiv, India continues to buy Russian oil.

Russia was listed second in terms of oil supplies to India throughout the summer. Additionally, supplies of oil products and coal surged.
