12 injured in a fire accident at Hong Kong World Trade Center

Several individuals are trapped in Hong Kong‘s World Trade Centre in Causeway Bay after a fire broke out on 15 December 2021. After the fire broke out on the rooftop of a Hong Kong skyscraper. Around 350 people were trapped.

According to the South China Morning Post, the authorities claimed at least injured one person. And rescuers used ladders to rescue individuals from within the structure.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that the fire started in the switch room on the bottom floor of the retail complex, which was undergoing renovations.

According to authorities, two breathing apparatus teams and two water jets helped to assist in putting out the fire.

World’s First Paperless Government: Dubai

Dubai officials in UAE confirmed that the emirate had become the world’s first paperless government on 11 December 2021. As a result, the government meets the Dubai Paperless Strategy’s goal in five phases.

The Dubai Paperless Strategy does have implemented throughout the city-state. Furthermore, each phase entails a group of Dubai government entities.

There will be no requirement for any Dubai government employee or customer to print any paper documents or transactions unless they want to do so. Moreover, the printing services are available in a range of places, including service and typing centres.

These firms provide over 1,800 digital services and over 10,500 significant transactions. In addition, the strategy saved the Dubai government around Dhs1.3 billion ($362 million or ₹2,762 crores) and 14 million working hours.


10,000 years old female human infant found in Italy

Researchers have found 10,000-year-old female infant remnants in northwest Italy on 14 December 2021. According to researchers, the child remnants in a cave of Italy’s northern Liguria area is the oldest reported burial in European archaeology.

The researchers discovered the remnants of a baby named Neve at the rear of a cave. Moreover, it had ornamented with 60 shell beads, four pendants, and an eagle-owl talon.

The study focuses on the funeral traditions of the Mesolithic era, also known as the Stone Age’s middle stage. Experts believe the remains may also shed light on how the hunter-gatherer community. The time where they valued its young and female members.


Free Trade Agreement: India and Taiwan in talks for a semiconductor manufacturing unit

India and Taiwan have started discussions on a free trade agreement (FTA) for resolving the rising demand for chips. And establishing a semiconductor manufacturing unit in India.

Both countries show interest in developing one of Taiwan’s semiconductor behemoths, such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), establishing a plant in India.

The Indian side has offered many locations for the facility, but the two countries have yet to settle. After the approval of the agreement, it will be the second manufacturing facility established in a foreign country by a Taiwanese company.


7.6 Magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia; A possibility of occurrence of Tsunami

A 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia on 14 December 2021, the US Meteorological Department reported. The survey department warned of the possibility of hazardous tsunami waves.

The quake happened roughly 100 kilometres north of Maumere at a depth of 18.5 kilometres in the Flores Sea at 03:20 GMT, according to the report.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in the United States also stated that “hazardous” tsunami waves are probable for coasts within 1,000 kilometres of the earthquake’s epicentre in Indonesia.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) that the probability of mortality was minimal. However, the previous earthquakes in this area have created hazards like tsunamis and landslides that may have contributed to fatalities.
