Will BMW’s premium electric vehicle i7 compete with Tesla?
The i7 xDrive60 is a new electric 7-series premium vehicle from BMW. The future electric vehicle will have a range of “up to 300 miles”.
The starting price of $120,295. The i7 is already available for pre-order, and deliveries are slated to begin later this year.
The i7 cannot compete with Tesla in terms of battery performance and range. But it can absolutely compete in terms of performance.
The i7 xDrive60 will sprint from 0–60mph in roughly 4.5 seconds, thanks to two electric motors with a combined output of 536 horsepower and 549 pound-feet of torque.
The vehicle’s battery has a capacity of 101.7kWh. However, the overall power usage will be 19.7–18.9kWh every 100km.
Redmi launched the next mid-range smartphone series in India
Redmi has released the Redmi 10A and Redmi 10 Power smartphones in India.
This smartphone is the successor of the Redmi 9A smartphone, which features a MediaTek Helio G25 CPU, a 13MP camera, and other features.
Meanwhile, the Redmi 10 Power is a sub-₹15,000 4G gadget. Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor powers this smartphone.
The price of the Redmi 10A is ₹8,499 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage option. And ₹9,499 for the top-end 4GB + 64GB variant.
The phone will be available in Charcoal Black, Sea Blue, and Slate Grey colours.
It will be available for purchase via Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home shops, and Xiaomi retail partners at noon on April 26, 2022.
Samsung Electronics CEO signed an MoU to set up a new compressor manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu
Samsung Electronics said that it has invested ₹1,588 crores in India to build a new compressor manufacturing plant in Sriperumbudur, Chennai.
The facility will have a capacity of 8 million compressor units per year. Further, it will be expanded in the future.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that he had invited Samsung Electronics to establish a semiconductor manufacturing factory in Tamil Nadu.
The Japanese consumer electronics company inked an MoU with the government to set up a new compressor manufacturing facility.
Compressors manufactured at the factory would be used in refrigerators manufactured by Samsung in India and exported, Ken Kang, president and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, stated.
He also stated that the plant would employ around 600 people in the state.
High intense solar flare hit Earth on April 20; Scientists warn it may affect the telecommunications
A powerful solar flare (X2 class) struck Earth on April 20, affecting India and the wide regions of Southeast Asia. The solar flare occurred between 9 am and 10:30 am.
The sunspot number AR12992 caused a solar flare, which peaked at 9.27 IST and lasted for 30 minutes. The intensity was 220μ Watts / m2.
Scientists are expecting a huge sunspot to hit Earth shortly. Solar scientists have cautioned that the Sun may continue to unleash powerful flares in the coming days.
These flares have the potential to damage telecommunications and satellite-based systems throughout India.
According to data acquired by the Centre of Excellence in Space Sciences India (CESSI) at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Kolkata, this was the third X-class solar flare since April 15.
NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) also captured two solar flares emitted by the Sun at the same time. One is moderate (M-class) and the other one is strong (X-class) solar flares.
Whatsapp plan to bring subscription plan to Business account users

According to a new report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Business users will be able to use a subscription plan in the future that will provide them with additional features.
According to the report, Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp plans to add some features to the paid subscription service.
That includes the ability to add more devices with the ‘linked devices’ feature, which allows users to access the same WhatsApp Web account on multiple PCs via browsers in addition to their main smartphone.
The ‘linked devices’ feature works even when the primary phone is not connected to the internet. It could increase the maximum for paired devices for corporate accounts.
