An inactive satellite telescope identified a Jupiter alike exoplanet
NASA’s Kepler space observatory has been inactive for four years; it has identified a Jupiter-like object in a new finding.
A multinational team of astrophysicists using NASA’s Kepler satellite telescope identified an exoplanet making it Kepler’s furthest exoplanet yet discovered.
The team, led by David Specht, a PhD student at the University of Manchester, discovered the exoplanet using a phenomenon known as gravitational microlensing.
This exoplanet is 17,000 light-years from Earth, comparable to Jupiter’s distance. However, this satellite had completed its operations in 2018.
The exoplanet, formally known as K2-2016-BLG-0005Lb, was discovered in Kepler data in 2016. Around the course of its existence, Kepler saw over 2,700 now-confirmed planets.
Marsquakes on Mars occurred may be due to volcanic activity: New study
According to The Australian National University (ANU) specialists, volcanic activity beneath the surface of Mars may be the reason for repeated marsquakes. These marsquakes are similar to earthquakes in a specific spot on the Red Planet.
According to a new study published in Nature Communications, researchers from ANU and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing detected 47 previously unknown marsquakes beneath the Martian crust in Cerberus Fossae. A seismic activity zone on Mars is less than 20 million years old.
According to the study’s authors, these newly documented marsquakes are triggered by magma activity in the Martian mantle. That is the inner layer of Mars wedged between the crust and the core.
Samsung has launched Neo QLED 8K TVs in an event as its 2022 portfolio
At its virtual Unbox & Discover event, Samsung Electronics unveiled its 2022 portfolio of Neo QLED 8K TVs.
The series’ TVs all offer four HDMI 2.1 connections, Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro 4k 144 Hz gaming compatibility. Moreover, it includes a ‘Super Ultrawide Gameview’ feature, and Samsung’s ‘Game Bar.’
The Neural Quantum Processor 8K will power the 2022 Neo QLED 8K. This is a processor with 20 distinct neural AI networks for analysing content attributes and picture quality for optimal viewing.
Pantone, a private business recognised for the Pantone Matching System, is a proprietary colour space used in a range of sectors. It has certified the TV as ‘Pantone Validated’ in the display.
According to Samsung, the accreditation indicates that the models can accurately replicate more than 2,000 colours, including 110 Pantone flesh tone tones.
Vi MiFi pocket-size 4G router that can connect up to 10 devices
Vodafone Idea announced the release of Vi MiFi, a pocket-size 4G router that supports speeds of up to 150 Mbps and allows users to connect up to ten WiFi-enabled devices.
It has a 2700 mAh battery that the maker claims may last up to 5 hours on a single charge.
The gadget will cost ₹2,000 inclusive of taxes and also will be available as an add-on with a Vi family postpaid plan.
Individual postpaid options beginning from ₹399 are also available. Further, it will be offered in Vi in 60 cities around the country.
Apple may release a 9-inch foldable device by 2025
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple might release a foldable gadget with a 9-inch screen in 2025.
Kuo tweeted to update a previous forecast that Apple will produce such a gadget in 2024.
According to Kuo, the gadget that Apple is expected to release in 2025 would be a cross between the iPhone and the iPad.
“I expected Apple to launch a foldable iPhone as soon as 2024 in my reports last year. But now it’s clear this prediction needs to be revised. I predict Apple may launch its first foldable product in 2025 at the earliest. Which may be a foldable iPad or a hybrid of iPad & iPhone”, said Kuo in a tweet.
