The poor sleep cycle can cause Type 2 Diabetes: Study

Sleep is vital in preventing this metabolic condition, like a balanced diet and exercise. A poor sleep cycle might increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Sleep deprivation causes the production of stress hormones such as cortisol, which leads to insulin resistance. And hence it leads to higher blood sugar levels.

These stress hormones also cause desires for sugary and carbohydrate-rich food, resulting in weight gain and the development of Type II Diabetes.

Hence, if you’re having trouble sleeping, you should keep an eye on your sugar levels. A minimum of 7 hours of sleep per night is considered good sleep. Sleepiness and exhaustion during the day are the most obvious indications of a lack of sleep.

Covid-19: US FDA approves Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna booster vaccine for all adults

The Food and Drug Administration approved Moderna’s and Pfizer’s Covid booster jabs for all adults in the United States on November 19.

All three COVID-19 vaccines used in the United States provide better protection against severe disease, including hospitalisation and death.

But protection against infection can decline with time. Previously, the government has approved boosters of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine and the Moderna vaccine, exclusively for the elderly and persons with chronic health conditions.

But now, FDA approved to provide boosters to all US adult residents. Some experts are concerned that the focus on boosters could affect attempts to reach the 60 million Americans eligible for vaccinations but have not received them.

Bad Oral Health increase the risk of Covid: Study

There is significant evidence that poor dental health increases the risk of COVID. According to research, those with poor oral health may have more severe symptoms if they get to contact with the coronavirus.

COVID patients with gum disease are 3.5 times more likely to be hospitalised to critical care than those who don’t have. They are also 4.5 times more likely to require a ventilator and nine times more likely to die from COVID.

As a result, maintaining adequate dental hygiene is more vital than ever. Therefore, you should brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day with fluoride-containing toothpaste and see the dentist on a regular basis.
