Union Budget 2022: 400 New High-Class trains – “Vande Bharat Trains”
According to Budget 2022, India has planned to produce 400 new, more efficient Vande Bharat trains.
“India would design and construct four hundred new-generation Vande Bharat Trains with improved energy efficiency. And that would enhance the passenger riding experience over the next three years,” the finance minister said.
Passengers will undoubtedly have a better travel experience as a result of these trains. According to experts, trains would charge premium rates in the same manner that airlines do. However, as experts pointed out, there are certain implementation challenges on this path as well.
Increasing the speed of National Highway construction to finish it by next fiscal year: Road Transport Secretary
Union Road Transport and Highways Secretary Giridhar Aramane said on February 6, 2022, that they would accelerate the speed of road construction. So that NHAI can meet the national highway expansion objective for the next fiscal year.
So far in the current fiscal year, the NHAI and NHIDCL have built 7,500 kilometres of national highways, with at least 2,500 kilometres more projected in the next two months.
According to the Economic Survey, there has been a constant growth in the construction of National Highways/roads since 2013-14. That is with 13,327 kilometres built-in 2020-21 compared to 10,237 km in 2019-20.
The Road Transport and Highways Ministry have set a target of building 12,000 kilometres of highways in the current fiscal year.
Union Budget 2022: Central Vista gets ₹2,600 crores for non-residential office buildings
The Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has been granted ₹2,600 crores in the Union Budget 2022-23. That is for the development of non-residential office buildings of the Central Vista Project, including the Parliament and Supreme Court.
Budget 2022 allocates ₹767.56 crores higher than the previous fiscal’s allocation of ₹1,834 crores. Further, the budget has allotted ₹873.02 crores for residential uses to the ministry.
According to the proposed plan, the Executive Enclave would be on the south side of the South Block at plot number 36/38 in Lutyens’ Delhi’s high-security zone.
Kamladityya Construction Pvt Ltd, a Jharkhand-based infrastructure company, won the contract to build a Vice-President’s Enclave in November 2021.
DIAL: Expansion work of Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport complete
DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited) gave an announcement on February 6, 2022. The operator of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport is DIAL.
The expansion work of the arrival terminal at T1 is complete and is now operational. According to a PTI report, the work was carried out as part of expansion plans. And after the completion of extension work, the airport’s overall terminal capacity and airside capacity would expand to 100 million and 140 million, respectively.
Delhi Airport currently has a terminal and an airside capacity of 60 million and 100 million, respectively. T1, T2, and T3 are the three active terminals of Delhi Airport.
Jammu Smart City Ltd signs pact for development of Apsara Road ‘High Street’
Jammu Smart City Ltd (JSCL) signed an agreement on February 6, 2022, for Apsara road’s ‘High Street’ Gole market area development. And also, the bordering roads, to improve the street, walkability, and connectivity for inhabitants, according to an official.
Avny Lavasa, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JSCL, and a representative of Hassan Road Construction Pvt Ltd signed and exchanged the agreement.
Apsara Road is one of Jammu’s most renowned commercial and institutional zones, bordered by residential colonies. That includes Preet Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Jeewan Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Nai Basti, Rampura, and others.
According to the official, the overall road length would be 13.64 kilometres, including facilities such as street lighting, footpath, parking, water ATMs and many more.
