HCC-KEC Awarded Contract for 11.5 km CMRL Metro Line Phase-2

Chennai Metro Rail Ltd., (CMRL) constructing phase 2 metro line project in Chennai. Thus, CMRL phase 2 comprises 3 metro lines. It is one of the largest metro projects in India.

Firstly, Line-3 stretches from Madhavaram to Siruseri with 48 stations and 45 kilometres. Secondly, Line-4 stretches from Poonamalle to Lighthouse with 28 stations and 26 kilometres. At last, Line-5 stretches from Madhavaram to sholinganallur with 48 stations and 47 kilometres.

CMRL divided the phase 2 project into various tender package. The total cost of the project is ₹ 61,843 crore of a total of 119 kilometres. CMRL released the tender for an 11.6 km stretch in Line-5. This elevated stretch goes from Puzhithivakkam station to Shollinganallur.

The Contract was given to the lowest bidder, HCC-KEC. Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) and KEC International Limited is joint Venture. They already awarded Poonamalle to Porur stretch from line-4. The stretch is an 8km elevated line.

Jewar Airport: PM Modi inaugurates in Bhoomi Pooja Ceremony on November 25

India‘s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to lay the foundation stone for the Jewar International Airport by the end of November. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also join the Bhoomi Poojan function on November 25.

Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) is the owner of the airport. The location of the airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh.

The estimated cost of the airport is ₹30,000 crores. Moreover, the Jewar Airport covers an area of 5,000 hectares.

This will be a notable development project for the residents around NCR, Noida and Greater Noida. Further, the government expects the airport to be operational by September 2024.


World’s Largest Solar Park is in Bhadla, India: All you need to know

The Bhadla Solar Park in India is the world’s largest solar power park. The 14,000-acre Bhadla Solar Park in Bhadla, an arid and sandy area of Rajasthan.

The park has about one crore solar panels, which contribute to a total operating capacity of 2245MW. The cost of this solar park project is ₹10,400 crores. The project has started in the year 2015.

India now beats China in the largest solar plant, which is in Qinghai. Hence, the temperature of Bhadla varies from 46 to 48 degrees Celcius, this place is unfit to live in here.

PM Narendra Modi stated in June 2021 that India had grown its renewable energy capacity by 250 per cent since 2014. India has one of the improved renewable energy resources that will instantly help the country.


Valimai Cement: From the house of Tamil Nadu government

M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, introduced ‘Valimai,’ a new cement brand from the Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Limited (TANCEM), on November 16. Moreover, this is a State government initiative cement brand.

The cement comes in two variants. The cost of a cement bag is ₹350 and ₹365, which is nearly ₹90 less than the branded cement.

The main reason for a new cement company from the Government is the increase in the cost price of the cement. So, it would assist in decreasing the rise in cement prices while also promoting the expansion of the building industry. 


Purvanchal Expressway: Connects Lucknow to Ghazipur in 3.5 hours

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the groundwork for the Purvanchal Expressway project in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. In addition, this project is under the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).

The expressway starts from Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on Mohammadabad–Buxar highway (NH-31) in Ghazipur district. Indeed, the estimated cost of the project is ₹22,500 crore.

The six-lane expressway covers a total distance of 340.8km. Moreover, this can be upgraded as an eight-lane road. In fact, the expressway can reduce the travelling time from 6 hours to 3.5 hours between Lucknow and Ghazipur.

The government expects that the Purvanchal Expressway would help the economic growth of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
