Yadadri: A Temple out of a mountain in Telangana

Yadagirigutta is a 1.5-acre plateau with a tiny cave shrine dedicated to Narasimha and a rock with a carving of Hanuman.

K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, started the temple’s refurbishment and accepted the final design.

The temple is undergoing major renovations at a budget of ₹1800 crores.

For lining the gopurams and walls of the temple, the temple had 39kgs of gold and 1,753 tonnes of silver.

Furthermore, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced that the renovated Yadadri temple complex is to inaugurate on March 28, 2022.

United States Infrastructure Bill: Plans to rebuild Roads, Transit and Internet

The White House has passed a $1 trillion bipartisan proposal to rebuild the essential infrastructure developments in the United States. Now, the bill is ready for President Joe Biden’s signature.

The notable developments mentioned in the bill are revamping roads, bridges and public works systems and expanding broadband internet access.

The White House expects that the investments will create around 2 million jobs per year on average over the next decade.

Moreover, the plan would spend $7.5 billion for electric car charging stations for the increasing usage of electric vehicles to combat climate change.

Furthermore, it would also spend $5 billion on electric and hybrid school buses to reduce dependency on fuels.


NHAI InvIT raised more than ₹5,000 crores: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

NHAI has formed the first Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT), which has attracted top Canadian Pension funds as anchor investors.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) InvIT is a long-term initiative by the government to monetize road assets.

Moreover, the NHAI is the government’s major shareholder in the National Monetisation Pipeline.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the NHAI’s first infrastructure investment trust had raised more than ₹5,000 crores.

An Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) is similar to a mutual fund or real estate investment trusts (REITs) in function.

Specifically, it allows a lump sum of money to invest directly in infrastructure by potential investors in exchange for a tiny share.


India’s First Bullet Train Project to connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad

National High-Speed Railway Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) invited bids to construct India’s first Bullet Train project.

This project is to construct a 21-km long tunnel for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor.

Moreover, The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) implemented the world’s first exclusive green rating system in this project.

According to a report, the total cost of the project expects to be around Rs 1.08 lakh crore.

Bullet Trains will travel at 320 km/h on the future rail Corridor, covering a distance of 508 kilometres and stopping at 12 stations.

Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh launched the casting of a full span pre-stressed concrete (PSC) box girder for the project on November 1.

Even though there were many delays, the completion of the project expects to be in October 2028.


World’s First Fully Solar-Powered Airport in Kerala

The Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has completed its first hydropower plant near Kozhikode, in Arippara.

CIAL’s 4.5 MW Arippara hydropower plant is considered its largest project since the airport achieved power neutrality in 2015.

Moreover, This run-of-river hydroelectric facility has expected to generate 14 million units of electricity per year.

CIAL launched commercial operations of its floating solar energy plant, which produces 452 kWh of power, in January 2021.

In fact, The total electricity produced by solar power plants constructed by CIAL has reached 40 MWp by this floating solar plant.
