Rafael Nadal made history by winning 22 Grand Slams and 14 French Open

Rafal Nadal defeated Casper Ruud in the French Open 2022 final to capture his 22nd Grand Slam championship.

Nadal defeated Casper Ruud 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 in a triumph that occurred two days after his 36th birthday, marking him the clay-court tournament’s oldest championship winner.

Ruud led 3-1 in the second set, prompting Nadal to step up his game, winning the next 11 games.

He is currently two Grand Slams ahead of opponents Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Federer hasn’t played in over a year due to knee surgery. Djokovic missed the Australian Open in January due to a lack of COVID-19 vaccination and lost to Nadal at Roland Garros.

Vikram box office crosses ₹175 crores worldwide; Kamal Haasan gifts a luxury car to the director

Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, is doing well in theatres. The action movie, released on June 3, earned ₹175 crores globally, with ₹100 crores from India alone.

Ramesh Bala further reported that Vikram surpassed other Tamil movies like Vijay’s Beast and Ajith Kumar’s Valimai in its first weekend in the UAE. Taran Adarsh also offered a breakdown of Vikram’s collection across several countries.

Following the success of the film ‘Vikram’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, actor and producer Kamal Haasan has presented the director with a Lexus car.

Cannes Film Festival: Ruben Ostlund won the Palme d’Or; Indian film “All that breathes” won the documentary award

Triangle of Sadness, a Swedish satire directed by Ruben Ostlund, won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. It was the director’s second Palme d’Or, following his 2017 parody on the modern art scene, The Square.

The documentary All That Breathes by Indian filmmaker Shaunak Sen has now received the top documentary award, the Golden Eye, at the present 75th Cannes Film Festival. This film has earlier won the grand jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

The Palme d’Or is regarded as one of the most coveted film prizes. It is given to the film considered to be the finest among those competing at the Cannes Film Festival.

E3: There is no event this year; the 2023 event will be on digital and physical

Entertainment Software Association has affirmed that E3 will return in 2023 as a digital and physical event. This year, there will be no E3 event.

“We’re looking forward to returning in 2023 with both a digital and an in-person event,” ESA president and CEO Stan Pierre-Louis told The Washington Post.

Due to the pandemic, E3 2020 was cancelled. However, E3 2021 resurfaced as a digital-only event. Although E3 2022 will not take place, events like Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest Live and the Microsoft/Bethesda press conference, among others, are occupying the traditional E3 area.

E3 2023’s dates and specifications have yet to be confirmed. The event, hosted at the Los Angeles Convention Center in June.

SL vs AUS T20I: The gamechanger Josh Hazlewood took 3 wickets in an over and made his team win

Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood picked up three wickets in an over to rattle Sri Lanka in the opening T20I between the two nations in Colombo.

Sri Lanka got off to a fantastic start, reaching 100/2 after 12 overs before Hazlewood came in to change the direction of the innings.

The top three hitters got the hosts off to a fast start, but the momentum switched once Hazlewood came out.
