Ganga Expressway – India’s one of the longest highway groundwork laid: PM Modi
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the groundwork for the massive Ganga Expressway project in Uttar Pradesh, India, on 18 December 2021.
This will be one of the longest highways in the nation. That would connect western and eastern Uttar Pradesh by passing through twelve districts. The expected cost of the Ganga Expressway is nearly ₹36,200 crore.
The Highway is 594 km long, 6-lane wide greenfield expressway would connect Bijauli village on NH-334 in Meerut district with Judapur Dandu village on NH-19 in Prayagraj district. Moreover, the initial phase of development will include the building of six lanes and expandable to eight lanes.
In fact, The Adani Group has won the contract to construct this project of 464 km for ₹17,000 crores. Furthermore, Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) will build in three groups of six-lane expressways with access controls.
897 Circuit Km of Power Transmission Line construction completed in Uttar Pradesh: Adani Groups
In India, Adani Transmission Limited (ATL) said that it had finished the construction of transmission lines between the Ghatampur and Hapur districts of Uttar Pradesh on 20 December 2021.
Moreover, this is one of the longest intra-state transmission lines in India. It measures 897 circuit kilometres, accomplished by Ghatampur Transmission Ltd (GTL), an ATL affiliate.
Furthermore, the transmission line consists of four 765KV and 400KV bay extensions located in Agra, Greater Noida, and Hapur.
In fact, once operational, Ghatampur’s thermal production power plant would generate 14,000 million units (MU) of electricity per year.
1,400 new EV charges installed by Tata Power collaborating with Delhi government
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), a partnership between Tata Power and the Delhi government, has established over 1,400 electric car charging outlets around the state in India.
The firm made a statement that it will add a few more public EV charging stations to the list soon. Electric cars of various sizes, including two- and three-wheelers, can be charged at the EV charging stations.
TPDDL is collaborating with the North Delhi local government to install 50 public EV charging stations in the coming months.
TPDDL has also been focusing on building both private and public electric vehicle charging facilities in the national capital region.
Disabled-friendly ramps and beach wheelchairs at Chennai’s Marina Beach: TN Govt
A temporary ramp at Marina Beach has been made accessible to people with disabilities in Chennai, India. In an annual event organised by the Greater Chennai Corporation in collaboration with the Disability Rights Alliance TN.
From December 27 to January 2, the ‘Wheelchair-accessible Marina Beach’ will be open to both children and adults. It will be inaccessible on January 1 as part of the government’s Covid-19 limitations.
The event was planned for December 3 (International Day of Persons with disabilities). But, unfortunately, due to heavy rains, the government cancelled the plan.
The initiative’s official launch does have planned for December 28 in the presence of Municipal Administration Minister KN Nehru and other corporate officials. However, organisers have permitted people to utilise the facilities from December 27.
IIT-Hyderabad Phase 2 construction to complete by December 2022: The Director
The Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad campus’ Phase-2 construction would be finished by December 2022, says Prof BS Murthy, the institute’s director. The location of IIT-Hyderabad is in Sangareddy district, Telangana, India.
There are several expanding building and development operations in this project. According to the director, the campus accommodates over 3,000 students. And each hostel room is provided with technology to maintain a mean radiant temperature of 26 degrees Celsius even during peak summer without the use of air conditioning.
The campus’s second phase of development began in August 2019. Several lecture hall facilities, a knowledge centre, a sports facility, indoor stadiums, innovation and research parks, and also other structures are now under construction.
