World Vegan Day: The day to remember the importance of veganism

Every year vegans celebrate veganism as World Vegan Day on November 1st.

The event was founded in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then-Chair of The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom, to honour the organization’s 50th anniversary.

They choose not to consume dairy, eggs, or any other animal-derived goods, and to not eat meat, as vegetarians do.

By merging the first and last letters of “vegetarian,” the term “vegan” was born.

Momentarily, Veganism describes the way of life that seeks to eliminate all types of animal exploitation and suffering, whether in food or anything else.

Honeybees also do social distancing to defend themselves: Report

A new study from UCL and the University of Sassari reports that honeybees use social distancing to protect from parasites.

In the journal Science Advances, honeybee colonies respond to a hazardous mite infection by altering their use of space.

Furthermore, interactions amongst nestmates are to enhance the social gap between young and old bees.

A recent study shows the presence of the ectoparasite mite Varroa destructor in honeybee colonies caused changes in social organisation that might minimise parasitic transmission.

The Varroa mite is one of the primary parasites of honeybees, causing various adverse effects on bees including virus transmission.

Himalayan Figs are natural pain reliever: Study

A recent study has discovered the therapeutic benefits of Himalayan fig that it is a better substitution to synthetic pain killers like Aspirin and Diclofenac.

A study headed by researchers from Punjab’s Lovely Professional University (LPU) examined the analgesic effects of extracts from the wild Himalayan fig.

This study concluded that this fruit helps to treat wound infections and skin ailments.

Moreover, the wild fruit offers potential analgesic effects at various levels in general, a 400mg/kg dose in particular.

And, that is due to the presence of two significant components Psoralen and Rutin.

Fish Oil tablets helps to reduce the bad cholesterol level

Cardiovascular disease is the prime cause of mortality in India.

Heart-related disorders caused by high blood pressure and poor nutrition account for around 75% of all fatalities.

That can be caused by not eating a proper diet rich in green leafy vegetables and fruits. We must pay attention to what we consume.

Fish oils are rich in squalene, particularly in shark liver oil. In contrast, these are scarce in some vegetable oils.

Squalene is a natural molecule that has shown the anti-cancer, anti-ageing, and anti-oxidant properties.

In addition, Squalene helps the human body to produce cholesterol, steroid hormones, and vitamin D.

Squalene can increase good cholesterol (HDL) while decreasing bad cholesterol (LDL). Thus, having a well-balanced diet can fight against most diseases in India.
